Anaka Davis (Apprentice Pilates Instructor, Certified Yoga Instructor) – Anaka Davis is a Certified 200RYT yoga practitioner, 300YT student at Yoga on High, and student at Texas Tech University. She graduates summer of 2017 with a Bachelors in Human Sciences composed of three minors in: Nutrition, Exercise Sports Science, and Personal Finance. She is taking her ACE Personal Trainer exam in February of 2017. Her main interests are yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, bodybuilding, and basically anything that will break a sweat! She began practicing yoga in 2013 as a to healing and cope with diagnoses of cancer and lupus. “I want to be able to give people the tools to empower themselves. I want to educate and lead people into better understandings of their own personal, intimate integrations of the mind, breath, body, and spirit.” She became intrigued by the connectivity of MERRITHEW PILATES from her friend, and fellow Practice Instructor, Matt Parente. “He said I needed to meet Patrick and to consider the opportunity of learning something that made him so much more knowledgeable of his body, mind, and how it works. He also said he has a better yoga practice because of Pilates. I had to know more.” And so she did. Anaka is an Apprentice and began her STOTT Pilates journey in January of 2016. She is very excited to be a part of the Practice family and is excited about the opportunity to commit and focus on becoming a reliable, educated, fitness professional. a practice that has brought so many new opportunities and personal exploration. She will be in the studio observing Instructors for her Apprenticeship and practicing as well. She has met some of you-she wants to meet everyone-she can’t wait to see you!
